Making Incredible Art Happen

I am a project manager, non-profit arts director, curator, and advocate for experiential art. I have eight years of professional management and directorship experience, ten years of film and video production, exhibition design, and installation experience. I originally trained in architecture and engineering, and later in sculpture, video, and animation, and have worked with artists that use a variety of media, technologies, and scale in their projects and am a staunch supporter of experiential artwork in the Bay Area, that is to say, visual artwork that needs to be fully physically observed to be fully appreciated. I fundamentally believe that the importance of visual art is the present-tense interaction between art and viewer that creates a nonreplicable conversation which has the ability to profoundly change a human being’s relationship with the world. I make these projects happen.

In 2011, I co-founded Aggregate Space, an Oakland non-profit video and installation gallery, screening facility, fabrication shop, and design studio. In addition to being the facilities director and the director of the exhibition programming, I have also curated their lectures, artist conversations, and film series. I also serve on the advisory board of Root Division and the Audience Engagement Committee at Headlands Center for Visual Arts.
